Update #2: Bali

Did I mention earlier that I traveled a lot in May? And by that I mean I spent one weekend in Perth. The first weekend, I went to Bali!

It was sort of an impromptu trip, but so much fun.  We went Thursday through monday and just had a ton of fun.

Now for those of you who don't know, Bali is in Indonesia and is actually closer to Perth than Sydney is, so its pretty inexpensive to get to and also really inexpensive once you are there. yay SE Asia exchange rates! Seriously though, 10,000 rupiah is a dollar.

We stayed in Kuta, which is the really popular, touristy area, and then traveled around to see different things.  We went to Ubud, which has a monkey forest where there are just monkey's EVERYWHERE! They are really bold as well.  As in one tried to get up my skirt one time because it was trying to climb up my leg to get to the bananas I was holding.  Then we also went to Uluwatu and spent some time at the beach, which was beautiful and was probably my favorite place I visited.  There are these huge sea cliffs the beach goes right up to, and there are all these really cool caves that the waves have carved out.  As well, the break was really far out in the water so the shallows had some cool coral and were great just to bask in.  Then we went to the monkey temple for sunset. Again, lots of monkeys and on the coastal cliffs again.  The sunset was beautiful and it was just one of those moments that I wish I could put in a bottle and take with me wherever I go.  It was perfect.

However, the highlight of the trip might have been the Bali Zoo.  The Zoo itself was alright, a cool zoo with a lot of animals that you don't normally see around a lot but the highlight was being about to hold an Asian Bear Cat, a crocodile, AND PET A BABY TIGER!!! AHHH!!! IT WAS SO EXCITING! IT WAS A 6 MONTH SUMATRAN TIGER AND IT WAS ADORABLE! Yeah, nothing else about Bali really compares to petting the tiger.
